While drugstore products may be better than ever, nothing says luxury like pulling out your best Chanel makeup. While old-school brands can often give off a stuffy feel, that isn’t the case with the French fashion house. Even in the age of millennial-pink everything, Chanel Beauty has still managed to capture the hearts of influencers and makeup artists around the world. (We’ll admit its killer Instagram presence and truly innovative formulas certainly don’t hurt.)

Each glossy black compact embossed with those signature interlocking C‘s feels like a little treasure—and even if you can’t exactly swing a bag or a pair of shoes, a lipstick lets you in on the fantasy. Chanel Concealer and Color Corrector

Chanel Le Correcteur De Chanel Longwear Color Corrector and Concealer

Chanel products have a reputation for being on the sheer side, but this concealer can cover any evidence of a night out in seconds. It’s high-coverage yet lightweight, doesn’t settle into fine lines or creases, and stays on all day. It has a bit of a peachy tint to color-correct around the eyes—yet not too much, so it still works on blemishes—and the prettiest satin finish. —Bella Cacciatore, beauty writer

Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet

I’ve been hitting up this bottle of foundation for seven years now—it’s disgusting, I’m sorry, don’t judge me—but it’s seriously amazing. Contributing to its staying power: A single drop goes a long way, and I only turn it whenever my skin is having a meltdown but needs to shape up for whatever reason (a friend’s wedding, my own rehearsal dinner, things like that). It somehow pairs medium-to-full coverage with a lightweight texture, which has made it the holy grail for my acne-prone skin. Dark spots? Blemishes? I can hide them all without having to spackle my face. —Deanna Pai, acting commerce editor

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color

You know she’s a keeper when you suddenly forget about all the other lipsticks tossed into every bag you own. The baby-pink-meets-nude shade Emotive is an 18th-century romance on your lips, and it goes on smooth and creamy without feeling dry or caking. Consider me obsessed. —Talia Abbas, commerce editor

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow

One of my 2021 beauty resolutions was to branch out with my makeup, starting with eye shadow. I own one large makeup palette, but it’s hard to beat my face on the go with a full kit in my lap. That’s why I love this teeny palette. The shades in the Blurry Mauve quad are a few notches above my skin tone and much warmer, meaning the eye shadow actually shows up on my dark skin instead of blending into a grayish mess. This quad is seriously the only eye shadow I’ll be toting until further notice. —Brionna Jimerson, contributor

Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss Moisturizing Glossimer

My bank account may not show it, but I feel like a real rich bitch when I pull this lip gloss out of my bag. The formula is just as decadent as the packaging: It’s nonsticky and hydrating, and gives my lips an almost injection-like plump. What’s not to love about that? —Lindsay Schallon, contributor

Chanel Ultra Le Teint

All-Day Comfort Flawless Finish FoundationI normally stay away from matte foundations because I have super-dry skin, but I love how this one wears. It’s weightless and goes on so smooth—whether I use a brush, Beautyblender, or my fingers. The coverage is a pretty light to medium, which I don’t mind, because with flakiness, more isn’t more. There’s also a subtle, luminous glow to the formula, which means everything to me and my Mojave Desert skin. —Shanna Shipin, commerce managing editor

Chanel Rouge Coco Flash Lipstick

Chanel Rouge Coco Flash Lipstick

A Chanel logo almost always catches my eye. But the transparent cap on these Flash lipsticks basically jumped out screaming, “Open me!” Anticipating something magical, I quickly unveiled a shimmery pinky-nude in the shade Immédiat, and I was not disappointed. Thanks to the blend of oils, my lips were nourished and moisturized throughout the day, which is no small feat. —Talia Gutierrez, beauty contributor

Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil

I feel as though I spend far too much time seeking out the best of the best as far as brow products go. Gels, pencils, markers; I’ve tried them all. This particular pencil is right up there in my personal hall of fame. First, it doesn’t tug as so many pencils do. Second, the color applies easily and naturally, and lets me gradually build. I’ve been using it daily. Then I brush my brows up with a gel afterward, and I’m all set. —Perrie Samotin, digital director

Chanel Le Liner De Chanel

When it comes to a liquid eyeliner, I’m looking for something that will make my routine go smoothly enough that I have time to stop for a breakfast taco. This was more of a stand-there-for-seven-minutes-painstakingly-flicking-my-own-face-like-Vermeer type of liquid eye product. But the formula is gloriously pigmented with decent staying power, and the packaging is so elegant that I got a little bit of joy just from holding it. If you’re a cat-eye queen, or a surgeon, the superthin brush applicator will give you incredible precision, and while I needed a bit of practice with it, the end result was worth the wait. —Jenny Singer, staff writer

Courtesy of brand 10/17Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip ColourI own approximately 10,000 makeup items, but if I had to narrow my stash down to a top five, this lipstick in the shade Choquant would certainly make the cut. I never thought I was a red-lipstick girl, but this product single-handedly changed my mind. It’s the most perfect, flattering red that, like a Chanel bag, makes any outfit look instantly put together. Despite being a matte finish, it doesn’t dry my lips out—and it stays on for hours. Until I can afford a bag, this lipstick is the next best thing. —B.C.
